The processing of the data described below is carried out to establish, perform, and fulfill the contractual relationship with you (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR), as well as to comply with legal obligations and to ensure the security of SYNAIKIDO SoundArts services (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c and lit. f GDPR).

Registration and Sign-In

You can create an account or sign in in three ways:

• Sign in with Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland): When you sign in via Google, SYNAIKIDO SoundArts receives from Google a unique user identifier (provider ID), your email address and - if available - your name. In this case, no password is stored by SYNAIKIDO SoundArts.
• Sign in with Meta/Facebook (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland): When you sign in via Meta, SYNAIKIDO SoundArts receives a unique user identifier (provider ID), your email address and - if available - your name. In this case, no password is stored by SYNAIKIDO SoundArts.
• Registration with email and password: In this case SYNAIKIDO SoundArts stores your email address and your password. The password is stored exclusively as a cryptographic hash (bcrypt) - SYNAIKIDO SoundArts never stores or knows your password in plain text at any time and cannot recover it. To confirm your email address, SYNAIKIDO SoundArts sends a verification email.

When signing in via Google or Meta, the privacy policies of the respective provider apply: Google Privacy and Meta Privacy.

What Data SYNAIKIDO SoundArts Stores

In connection with your account and your projects, SYNAIKIDO SoundArts processes in particular:

• Account data: sign-in method (Google, Meta, or email), provider user identifier, email address, name, and - if provided - artist name, first and last name, and chosen language.
• Password (only for email registration): exclusively as a bcrypt hash, never in plain text.
• Project and file data: projects you create (e.g., song/album titles, type of project, notes) as well as the audio files you upload and the result files SYNAIKIDO SoundArts provides.
• Communication data: messages you exchange with SYNAIKIDO SoundArts via the integrated chat.
• Notification and consent settings: e.g., your email notification preferences and any newsletter status including the time of consent.
• Technical security data: sign-in tokens (session management) as well as data for abuse and spam prevention (e.g., failed sign-in attempts, short-lived upload authorizations).

Uploaded audio files are stored with a processor, Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, in Cloudflare R2 (S3-compatible object storage). Data transfer is encrypted; according to the provider, Cloudflare R2 also encrypts stored objects at rest. Where legally required, a data processing agreement is in place with Cloudflare. For transfers to third countries, Cloudflare relies on the safeguards provided for this purpose, in particular EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, adequacy mechanisms.

Protection Against Abuse (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To protect against automated access and spam, SYNAIKIDO SoundArts uses Cloudflare Turnstile for certain actions (e.g., file uploads), a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. The legal basis is SYNAIKIDO SoundArts' legitimate interest in the security of SYNAIKIDO SoundArts services (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Where legally required, a data processing agreement is in place with Cloudflare. Further information about Cloudflare's data processing is available at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

Cookies and Browser Storage

SYNAIKIDO SoundArts does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. This website uses only technically necessary cookies for protected account functions, such as keeping you signed in and securing OAuth sign-in flows. These cookies are set only where they are required to provide the requested service.

SYNAIKIDO SoundArts also uses local browser storage and session storage for functional purposes, including remembering language and theme preferences, restoring unsent contact form drafts, caching pages or audio-player data for performance, remembering read state in the customer area, and sending limited technical diagnostics needed to keep the website reliable. This storage is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Retention Period

SYNAIKIDO SoundArts stores your account, project, and communication data for as long as your account exists or as long as this is necessary for handling your projects. The data is subsequently deleted, unless statutory retention obligations (e.g., commercial and tax law periods) prevent this.

Invoice documents and accounting records are stored separately from ordinary project files. They remain retained after project or account deletion according to applicable retention obligations. This notice is implementation copy pending legal/accounting review.

Deletion of Your Account and Data

You can request the deletion of your user account and the associated personal data at any time through the account settings, or request it from SYNAIKIDO SoundArts. Alternatively, send an informal request by email to synaikido@icloud.com. SYNAIKIDO SoundArts will then delete your account and the associated project, file, and communication data, unless statutory retention obligations prevent this.

Google Maps

This website may use Google Maps API to display maps. Google Maps is operated by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

When you use Google Maps, Google receives information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of this website. This occurs regardless of whether Google provides a user account through which you are logged in or whether there is no user account. If you are logged into Google, your data will be directly assigned to your account.

Optional website statistics

When enabled, our own analytics runs only after you choose Allow. It helps us improve public pages by measuring page visits, visible sections, visible and active time, scroll ranges, selected links and email drafts opened. The signed-in area is measured too, but only at page level - which of its screens were opened and for how long. No regions, no clicks, and no page beneath them: a project or conversation you open is never measured, and no project, conversation or account identifier is ever recorded. An opened email draft does not tell us whether a message was sent. Website build versions help us compare releases. Last observed pages and sections are observations, not confirmed tab closures.

Statistics use temporary random visit and page identifiers held in memory. We do not store account identifiers, form contents, complete URLs, IP addresses or browser fingerprints in the analytics database, and we do not join statistics to customer records. Your browser necessarily sends an IP address to the server; a short-lived daily keyed value is used for abuse limits, separately from statistics. The hosting provider may maintain separate operational access logs.

Detailed observations are retained for 30 days and daily aggregate statistics for 13 months. Your analytics choice is saved for twelve months, whether you allow or refuse, and is stored on your account as well when you are signed in. You can change or withdraw it at any time through the analytics setting offered with the appearance and language preferences, whether or not you are signed in; choosing Unset there deletes the saved choice, so you are undecided again and the notice asks once more. Withdrawal clears pending measurements and stops future collection; requests already sent cannot be recalled, and previously received records follow the retention periods. Browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep collection off unless you allow it explicitly yourself.

Statistics remain separate from customer accounts and are never joined to them. We should be plain about the limit of that, though: on the signed-in area the person using it is known to us, so even without an account identifier in the statistics the two could in principle be related by timing. We do not do this, and reports show the signed-in area only as aggregate screen counts. Because no enduring visitor identity is kept, we may be unable to locate observations belonging to an individual. For questions or data requests, contact synaikido@icloud.com. Discarding the notice records nothing and leaves collection off, so it is shown again on a later visit; refusing in the settings is remembered. Neither affects use of the website.
